Utah Approaches Important milestone in BCS Probe
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff said today he is close to hiring outside counsel to assist in a lawsuit against the Bowl Championship Series (BCS). The Utah Attorney General's Office has been conducting an anti-trust investigation for the past two years to determine whether the BCS system illegally deprives universities of a fair and equal chance to participate in championships and funding. "We are closely monitoring the recently proposed changes to the BCS system," says Shurtleff. "We are continuing our investigation and finalizing the hiring a law firm to aid in a legal challenge against the BCS.“
The Utah Attorney General's Office will provided more information as soon as a contract with a law firm has been finalized.
