Attorney General Sean D. Reyes released the following:
“Our office is shocked and deeply saddened by the senseless shootings of two members of our law enforcement family. We extend our deepest sympathies to 19-year veteran Sgt. Cory Wride’s wife and five children and express to Deputy Greg Sherwood and his family our ongoing concern throughout his recovery. These acts of violence against our devoted public servants are tremendously disturbing and remind all citizens of Utah of the dangers faced and sacrifices made by peace officers and their families on a daily basis. We offer sincere gratitude for the dedicated service provided by both Sgt. Wride and Deputy Sherwood to our state.”
