Jacee Ballard is an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Protection Division representing the Utah Division of Child and Family Services. Jacee collaborates with and advises the Division in its efforts to protect vulnerable children.
Jacee has over 24 years experience in various roles in the child welfare system, as parental defense, Assistant District Attorney, and an Assistant Attorney General. Jacee received her J.D. in 2001 from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. In law school she was on the National Trial Advocacy Team and the National Mediation Team. Jacee interned for Honorable Judge William Thorne at the Utah Court of Appeals. As part of the internship, Jacee researched and facilitated an extensive Indian Child Welfare Project launched by Judge Thorne.
Jacee is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne Sioux Tribe.
Before attending law school, Jacee worked in the Utah Juvenile Justice system supervising detention centers and receiving centers. Jacee served several years on the S.J. Quinney College of Law Board of Trustees. Currently, Jacee is on the Executive Board and Board of Trustees for Utah Foster Care.
