Mary Katherine Villani (Katie) is an Assistant Attorney General for Consumer Protection within the Commercial Enforcement Division. With her colleagues, she represents the Utah Division of Consumer Protection and the State in consumer protection enforcement actions and collaborates with attorneys general and federal enforcers across the country on multistate consumer protection investigations and enforcement.
Before joining the Office of the Utah Attorney General, Ms. Villani worked in both government and private practice for more than thirty years, specializing in civil litigation, municipal law, and land use.
Ms. Villani received her Juris Doctor in 1993 from Yale Law School, where she graduated with honors and was selected as a member of the first Dean’s Advisors to mentor incoming law students. Ms. Villani received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Virginia in 1990, where she was an Echols Scholar and awarded Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Villani is admitted to practice law in Utah, New York, Florida, and before the United States Supreme Court.
