Executive
Attorney General Derek Brown leads the office, supported by his Chief Deputy Attorney General, Daniel Burton. The office has three departments: Civil, Criminal, and Appellate.
Civil
The Civil Department has nine divisions: Education, Environment and Health, Highways and Utilities, Litigation, Natural Resources, State Agency Counsel and Tax, Financial and Antitrust Services, Child and Family Support, and Child Protection. Mark E. Burns heads the Civil Department.
Criminal
Led by Stewart Young, the Criminal Department comprises six divisions: White-Collar Enforcement, Investigations, Justice, a Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, a Mortgage Fraud Unit, and Children’s Justice Centers.
Appellate
The Appellate Department, led by Solicitor General Stanford E. Purser, has three divisions: Civil Appeals, Criminal Appeals, and Constitutional Defense.
