Derek Brown serves as Utah’s Attorney General after more than two decades in law and public service. He graduated from Pepperdine Law School, clerked for a former chief judge of the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and practiced constitutional and appellate law at two of the nation’s top firms. He served as legal counsel to U.S. Senators Bob Bennett and Orrin Hatch, represented House District 49 in the Utah Legislature, and chaired the Utah Republican Party. He and his wife Emilie have four children and live in Cottonwood Heights.
