The Public Protection Department works to enforce state laws to safeguard the financial well-being of individuals and families across Utah. The Commercial Enforcement Division safeguards Utahns by enforcing laws against deceptive practices, fraud, and abuse to ensure a fair, free, and competitive marketplace. The division has three sections: Securities and Real Estate, Consumer Protection, and Professional Licensing. These three sections represent divisions in the Utah Department of Commerce and work closely with them to protect Utah consumers from fraud and deception.
The Antitrust and Data Privacy Division enforces fair and competitive market practices and protects Utahns from fraudulent and unauthorized use of their personal information.
