What Is L.E.T.S. Stay Safe?
The L.E.T.S. Stay Safe program is Utah’s firearm safety and violence prevention effort designed for students, families, and educators. Launched by the Office of the Attorney General in partnership with the State School Board and Legislature, this program gives children the tools they need to respond safely if they ever encounter a firearm or threat.

What’s included in the L.E.T.S. Stay Safe program
The program includes a 5-minute educational video that teaches children how to respond to firearms or threats at school, as well as a 50-minute lesson plan, a PowerPoint presentation, posters, handouts, and a social media campaign.
Who can access the program?
The L.E.T.S. Stay Safe program is available to school resource and peace officers to present this lesson to students in grades 5 through 12 with the school district or charter school’s approval.
Following Utah State Code §53A-13-106.5, written parental or guardian consent is required before the program can be presented in schools.
