Greg Hewitt is an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Section of the Litigation Division, where he focuses on civil rights litigation.
Greg earned his J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Utah Law Review and was a Quinney Research Fellow. He received the Stephen Pierre Traynor Legal Writing Award for his paper, “Post Karasek and Pre Assault: A New Age of Title IX Litigation.” Following law school, he clerked for Judge Ryan M. Harris at the Utah Court of Appeals.
In his practice, Greg has secured a no cause jury verdict in federal court defending against Fourth Amendment unreasonable search and seizure claims, and has briefed, argued, and won numerous motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment.
