Robert G. Wing is the Director of the Commercial Enforcement Division within the Public Protection Department. He works with lawyers representing the Utah Department of Commerce and the Divisions of Real Estate, Securities, Professional Licensing, and Consumer Protection.
For more than thirty years before joining the Office of the Utah Attorney General, Robert practiced in the private sector. He primarily acted as receiver and as counsel to receivers of companies. As both a receiver and now as counsel to regulators, he has spent most of his career protecting investors and consumers from fraud. In addition, Robert has represented clients in class action matters. For example, he was class counsel in Ford v. American Express Financial Advisors which resulted in a large jury award for his clients.
Robert is a past president of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER). He has been recognized regularly by Chambers USA – America’s Leading Business Lawyers, and Utah Business magazine’s Legal Elite, and is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell.
He is a graduate of Pomona College and the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
