Anikka Hoidal is an Assistant Attorney General in Constitutional Defense and Special Litigation. She has worked in private practice at both a boutique firm and in big law. Her experience is in business litigation, and she has experience with white collar investigations and products liability. Anikka also has experience working with the government as a legislative attorney. She currently has an appointment as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah and serves on the Office of the Attorney General’s awards committee.
Anikka earned her J.D. from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2017, after completing her 1L year at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law. She also holds an M.S. in Social Work from the University of Utah, and a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Southern California, which she completed in 2016.
While in law school, Anikka served as Executive Footnote Editor of the Utah Law Review. She received CALI Awards for the highest grade in her class in Pretrial Practice and in Sexuality, Gender, & the Law, and Order of the Coif Academic Achievement recognition for the second-highest grade in Commercial Law, Evidence, and Mergers & Acquisitions. She won the Best Draft Award in her region at the Transactional LawMeet, was named a William H. Leary Scholar as a member of the top 20% of her class, and served as a Fellow at the Center for Law & Biomedical Sciences.
Following law school, Anikka clerked for the Honorable Paige Petersen of the Utah Supreme Court and the Honorable David Barlow of the United States District Court for the District of Utah.
