Commercial Enforcement

Blake Erickson is an Assistant Attorney General with the Commercial Enforcement Division, where he serves as counsel for the Division of Consumer Protection. Mr. Erickson’s practice focuses on complex multi-state consumer protection litigation, as well as state and federal consumer protection enforcement matters.  

Before joining the Office of the Utah Attorney General Mr. Erickson worked as an Enforcement Attorney with the Indiana Secretary of State’s Securities Division, where he litigated civil and administrative enforcement actions under the Indiana Uniform Securities Act and coordinated investigations into securities law violations. Mr. Erickson also served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, handling civil matters on behalf of state agencies, primarily addressing environmental and white-collar enforcement. 

Mr. Erickson earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2022, where he was awarded a Dean’s Scholarship and served as a Junior Editor for the Michigan Journal of Environmental and Administrative Law. He received his B.S. in Criminal Justice, cum laude, from Lake Superior State University in 2019. While at Lake Superior State, he delivered a TEDx talk titled “Exceptionalism,” and his honors thesis examined collegiate free speech policies and proposed revisions to his university’s public posting policy. 

Outside the office, he enjoys golf, tennis, trivia, and reading nonfiction.
