David Wolf is the Division Director of Constitutional Defense and Special Litigation. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Utah in 1993 where, among other honors, he was a Note and Comment Editor for the Utah Law Review and served as an intern to Federal District Court Judge David K. Winder. Upon graduation, David clerked for Chief Judge Greggory Orme at the Utah Court of Appeals for two years and then, joined the law firm of Snell & Wilmer where he focused his practice on commercial and product liability litigation. Among other clients, David defended manufacturers of pharmaceuticals in multi-state litigation, involving injuries or death allegedly caused by the use of phentermine and fenfluramine; and automobile manufacturers against roof crush, restraints, rollover/stability, and exposure to asbestos claims.
After 12 years in private practice, David left his position as a partner at Snell & Wilmer to join the Office of the Utah Attorney General in 2008, working in the Civil Rights Section of the Litigation Division. In 2014, David was chosen to lead the newly formed Constitutional Defense and Special Litigation Division. David has extensive experience in all aspects of federal and state district court litigation, including class-action lawsuits, preliminary injunction hearings, discovery, motion practice and trial. David has also argued several cases before the Utah Court of Appeals and Utah Supreme Court.
