Erin leads the Office’s Civil Appeals Division, bringing over a decade of experience representing the State of Utah, its agencies, and its officers in appellate matters. Her work spans a broad range of civil issues—including constitutional law, water rights, tax, consumer protection, and administrative law. Erin is well-versed in both state and federal appellate courts and often advises clients on appellate strategies during lower court proceedings.
Before becoming an assistant solicitor general, Erin spent nearly ten years as a litigator, advocating for clients in business and employment matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She honed her skills at a couple of respected Salt Lake law firms and served as an assistant attorney general in the AGO’s Litigation Division.
Erin is a former chair of the Appellate Section of the Utah State Bar. She earned her law degree from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she served on the Utah Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. Erin began her legal career clerking for then-Chief Justice Christine M. Durham on the Utah Supreme Court.
