FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention worked hard to create an atmosphere of safety for all at this year’s convention. The Utah Attorney General’s Office was a partner in the process, providing and hosting a 24/7 harassment hotline made available to all attendees.
The hotline received two calls regarding complaints about sexual harassment/assaults over the weekend. These calls were relayed back to Salt Lake City PD for further investigation.
The other twelve calls included people calling to make sure the line was set up and working, looking for the hospitality area or lost wallets, accidental dials, or issues with the celebrity photo-ops/autographs area.
The Utah Attorney General’s Office applauds FanX’s efforts to create a culture where bullying, abuse, assault, or harassment of any kind is not tolerated.
In addition to the hotline, FanX is working on several initiatives to make the conference safer for all. You can read more information about how below.
